こんな感じで使います。
A：Did you meet Peter after his wedding?
ピーターとは結婚式の後で会った?
B：No. Why? He must be busy settling down.
会ってないよ。なんで？ 彼は落ち着くのに忙しいに違いないよ。
A：I’d say he isn’t very happy with the new life.
きっと新しい生活にあまり満足していないんだよ。
B：What made you think that? Did he say anything?
何がそう思わせるの？ 彼なんか言ってた?
A：No, I just read between the lines.
いや。ただ読み取っただけだよ。
A：I think we should not ask my sister to join us in our trip.
妹に旅行に参加するよう頼むべきじゃないと思うんだけど。
B：Why not?
なぜだい？
A：She said she could afford it, but reading between the lines,
I don’t think she has enough money.
彼女は余裕があると言ってたけど、(本心)読み取ったら、
十分なお金があるって思えないんだよね。
